Family Promise of Shawnee is beyond thrilled to accept the donation of a 2003 Chrysler Minivan from the Dudley Family. The Dudley family got the idea of the van donation from a local church that Family Promise partners with for volunteers. We want to extend our thanks to the Dudley Family for thinking of us and being a part of changing a family's life. Often times a car is the biggest drawback for many families when it comes to independence. A car is a staple that many of us, including myself, sometimes take for granted. A car takes us to work to earn a paycheck, a car takes our kiddos to daycare so that we can work, a car takes us to get groceries to feed our families, a car does many things for us but sometimes is an expense that many cannot afford. Purchasing a vehicle is not often at the top of a families priority list. Typically, upon entering they just want a place to stay, a safe environment for their family, food to eat, and a job. It is difficult for families to maintain employment when they do not have reliable transportation to get there. Because of the generous donation of the Dudley family we can now provide a family with this amazing gift and a relief that they do not have to worry about that anymore.
May God Bless You and Keep You,
